Met legend survives heart attack

syndication-westchester-county-journal-news-105

(St. Louis, MI) — Former Met and Yankee star Darryl Strawberry says he is recovering from a heart attack.  He posted a picture of himself on Instagram in a hospital bed at St. Joseph Hospital West in Missouri. He says he is thankful to the medical staff there for putting a stent in his heart.  Strawberry just turned 62 years old. The Mets are retiring his number at Citi Field in June.

Strawberry began his career with the Mets back in 1980. He spent eight years with the Amazins, and was part of the World Series winning team in 1986. In 1995 he joined the Yankees and won two World Series with the Bronx Bombers.
