(Washington, D.C) — Former Special Counsel Robert Hur says a reasonable juror could have voted to convict President Biden in his classified documents case. While facing questions from lawmakers on Capitol Hill Tuesday, Hur admitted it was conceivable a jury would have found the president guilty of a crime. Hur, however, decided not to bring charges against the president for his handling of classified materials, concluding a jury might be sympathetic to Biden’s “diminished faculties.” He also said the evidence did not establish the facts beyond a reasonable doubt Biden committed a crime.

The White House says it’s “time to move on” from Robert Hur’s report on President Biden’s handling of classified documents. A White House official told reporters “the main thing to take away from Monday’s hearing is two words for the American people: case closed.” He says that Biden “feels strongly that this case is over and it’s time to move on for the business of the American people.”
