77 WABC International Women's Day Highlights
77 WABC International Women's Day Full Roundtable
International Women’s Day, observed annually on March 8th, is a global celebration of women’s achievements and a reminder of the ongoing fight for gender equality.
77 WABC will celebrate with a day of programming and a special roundtable event. Hosted by Andrea Catsimatidis and Rita Cosby, the day will feature Lally Weymouth, Deborah Norville, Lara Trump, Noa Tishby, Jeanine Pirro and Huma Abedin.
Originating from early 20th-century movements for women’s rights, the day serves as a catalyst for change and reflection.
While acknowledging the strides made in women’s rights, International Women’s Day also highlights the persistent challenges women face worldwide, including unequal pay, limited access to education and healthcare, and gender-based violence. The theme for 2024, “Breaking the Bias,” underscores the need to challenge stereotypes and discriminatory attitudes.
Through movements like #MeToo and #BalanceforBetter, there has been increased awareness and activism surrounding gender equality. International Women’s Day is an opportunity for people worldwide to participate in various events and activities, fostering solidarity and inspiring action.
As we commemorate International Women’s Day, let us celebrate the achievements of women and renew our commitment to advancing gender equality, recognizing that collective efforts are essential in creating a more inclusive and equitable world for all.
