(Philadelphia, PA) — Police are searching for three gunmen in connection to a mass shooting that injured 8 high school students at a bus stop in Philadelphia Wednesday afternoon. Eight teenagers were shot as the waited for a public SEPTA bus near Northeast High School. Two of the teens are in critical condition.
The city has witnessed four shootings involving SEPTA buses in the last week. Three have been killed. Eleven of the victims have been children. Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel called the shootings cowardly acts that are unacceptable. Wednesday’s shooting happened as students from Northeast High School were waiting for the bus to go home. One of the teenagers was shot nine times. Police say they have video of the gunmen in a 2019 Hyundai Sonata opening fire. They may have fired off at least 30 shot before racing away from the scene.
