(New York, NY) — The federal judge in the trial of New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez and his wife has ruled that gold bars and other evidence seized in the investigation are admissible. During the searches of Menendez’s home in Englewood Cliffs in June of 2022, FBI agents seized several gold bars and hundreds-of-thousands of dollars in cash. U.S. District Judge Sidney Stein disagreed with Menendez that the search warrants were flawed and misleading and did not violate his Fourth Amendment rights. A three-term Democrat, Menendez has not yet said whether he’ll seek reelection.
