Two Arms, a Leg, and Now a Woman’s Head Found

Kids walking to school first spotted a human arm at the Suffolk County park on Thursday morning -- and a follow-up inquiry found even more body parts.

(Babylon, NY) – Cops say they may be getting closer to solving the mystery on Long Island, after human body parts were found at a park in Suffolk County. It was Thursday morning when kids walking to school first spotted a human arm — at Southards Pond Park in Babylon.

One of the kid’s parents called 911, and that touched off a larger investigation while the park was closed. Eventually cops found a human leg, and a second arm. Then, on Friday, a woman’s head was discovered.

Suffolk County Police Detective Lieutenant Kevin Beyrer says investigators now believe a vehicle could have dumped these human remains at the park. It’s a highly wooded area with lots of leaf cover on the ground so the search and recovery effort has proved challenging.

The two arms were found about 20 feet away from each other. Each belonged to a man and had tattoos. Then, in addition to the woman’s head, a female arm and leg were found. Cops are trying to definitively figure out what could have happened to the people involved.
