Will Fani Willis stay on Trump case?

(Fulton County, FA) — The judge presiding over hearings regarding whether Georgia Prosecutor Fani Willis should be disqualified in former President Trump’s alleged election interference case, says he will render a decision within two weeks. Closing arguments ended on Friday. Trump’s attorneys argue Fani Willis needs to be disqualified because of her romantic relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade. At issue is if their relationship began before she appointed him prosecutor, and if she benefited financially by the appointment. Both Willis and Wade claim they spent their travel expenses equally, and their relationship began after the appointment. Trump is accused of illegally pressuring Georgia officials to overturn his 2020 election loss in the state to President Biden. Trump has pleaded not guilty, along with his 14 co-defendants.
