Former NRA Head LaPierre Convicted of Corruption

syndication-the-indianapolis-star-26

(New York, NY) – Former National Rife Association CEO Wayne LaPierre has been found guilty of violating non-profit laws and misusing funds. A New York City jury determined LaPierre improperly utilized NRA funds to pay for things like private flights and vacations. Prosecutors described LaPierre’s actions as aimed at fueling a “lavish” lifestyle.

The prosecution was brought forth by Attorney General Tish James, a fiercely leftist prosecutor who’s vowed to go after prominent conservatives like former President Donald Trump. The NRA also fell into her crosshairs, and she alleged LaPierre and other NRA leaders not only misused funds but also ignored whistleblowers. It’s possible the defendants are forced to payback the NRA — and some individuals may be barred from holding leadership positions within the organization.

In January of 2021 the NRA left New York and eventually moved its corporate headquarters to Texas, citing a “hostile political environment” in the Empire State. The NRA was originally found in the post Civil War era, on November 17, 1871, in New York City.

LaPierre’s attorney says the prosecution of his client was a political witch hunt led by AG James.
