(New York, NY) — Police are searching for at least 17 people involved in two separate attacks in Times Square Thursday night. A large group of people attacked a Nicaraguan teenager outside a shelter on 42nd Street around 5:30 p.m., stabbing the 17-year-old in the back with a huge knife.  Times Square was packed with New Yorkers and tourists who witnessed the beatdown and stabbing. The teen is expected to recover.

Two hours later, a 28-year-old man was kicked and punched in the face outside the Hard Rock Cafe on Broadway. Again, a large crowd of tourists witnessed the brutal attack that involved a group  of men. Police did make a few arrests. They are looking for 17 in all involved in the two attacks.

Times Square has seen it’s share of high profile crimes in the last month, including a migrant who opened fire in a clothing store, and a group of migrants who attacked two NYPD cops.
