(Nutley, NJ) – An arrest has been made in a fatal hit-and-run that left a Paterson native dead last week. Today would have been Wiston Perlaza’s 23rd birthday, but he was hit and killed by a passing motorist on Valentine’s Day. He was reportedly walking with his date near the Garden State Parkway overpass in Nutley.
Now, 45-year-old Dhkir Robinson has been arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in death, among other offenses.
Family members had called for the motorist that hit Perlaza to turn themselves in. Loved ones knew him as “Bebe.” The young man’s date was also hurt and hospitalized but has since been released.
