Will Mayorkas be impeached?

(Washington, D.C.) — House Republicans are now one step closer to impeaching Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas over his handling of the crisis at the southern border. House Republicans took a party-line vote early this morning over what they say is Mayorkas “willful and systematic” failures to enforce immigration laws.

Democrats say the proceedings are a waste of time  Republican New York Congresswoman Elise Stefanik says Mayorkas could become the first Cabinet secretary to be impeached in almost 150 years. The full House will likely vote on the impeachment next week.
