(New York, NY) – Former President Trump’s second defamation trial will resume on Wednesday
The trial was put on pause Monday, due to potential COVID exposure concerns. This trial centers on allegations of defamation, in connection to writer E. Jean Carroll. She claims Trump raped her inside a Bergdorf Goodman dressing room sometime in the 1990s.
Last year, a jury found Trump liable for sexual assault and defamation — but not rape. As a result, Trump was ordered to pay Carroll $5 million. This trial centers on Trump’s denials.
Trump showed up to court in Lower Manhattan, but proceedings were eventually adjourned. A juror was sent home sick as well. Later, word came down that the concern was tied to potential COVID-19 exposure.
