UVALDE, Texas — The Justice Department’s 600 page report detailing a minute by minute account of the Uvalde Texas school massacre shows a complete breakdown in police communication and planning in efforts to stop the gunman who killed 21 victims and injured 17 others. Attorney General Merrick Garland says he told families of victims that they deserved better, saying the shooting could have been stopped sooner.
It’s the most in depth report of the police response to the May 24th, 2022 shooting at Robb Elementary School. The report identifies numerous problems from failed communication and leadership, to insufficient technology and training.
