US military officials confirmed a second attack against Houthi rebels in as many days.

(Washington, DC) – US military officials have confirmed a second airstrike targeting the Houthi rebels in Yemen. The Pentagon says the attack targeted a radar site in Yemen used by Houthis — who are backed by Iran. And this marked the second such attack in as many days. The White House has defended President Biden’s ability to carry out these airstrikes, saying the president will do what is necessary to protect commercial shipping in the Red Sea.
The most recent airstrike is considered much smaller than coordinated attacks on Thursday, which hit more than 60 sites and involved the British military. For months, dating back to the Hamas terrorist attacks on October 7, 2023 in Israel — Houthis have been attacking commercial shipping in the Red Sea. Shipping giant Maersk has suspended its operations at times. And the global economy has felt the pinch, with shipping down in December month over month, all while oil prices are also on the rise.
