UNDATED- In an about face–Hunter Biden is apparently agreeing to testify behind closed doors in the impeachment inquiry of his father.
An attorney for Hunter said the President’s son will abide by congressional subpoenas for a deposition with Republican investigators if they issue a new one.
Biden’s legal team said the earlier subpoenas were invalid. House Republicans had been getting ready to vote to hold Hunter in contempt of Congress. He had said he would only testify publicly because he was afraid Republicans would misrepresent his testimony behind closed doors.
Two House Republican Committee Chairmen say they would work with Biden to schedule a date for a private deposition
However, they say they’ll proceed with a vote next week on a resolution holding Biden in contempt of Congress until he confirms the date to testify.
