(Foxborough, MA) — The New England Patriots are expected to part ways with head coach Bill Belichick this afternoon. Belichick has been with New England for 24 seasons, racking up an incredible record including six Super Bowl wins. ESPN reports Belichick and Patriots owner Robert Kraft have been meeting this week to make sure the decision was mutual and without conflict. Belichick has one year left on his contract, but is expected to coach elsewhere.

The 71-year-old Belichick needs 26 more wins to match Don Shula’s all-time win record. There are numerous reports that he wants to keep coaching. The Patriots may move up one of their coaches to head coach to replace Belichick.
