This past weekend’s storm dumped snow on parts of New Jersey and in the Hudson Valley, but everywhere else it fell as rain. That has homeowners living near rivers worried they are about to be flooded out again The ground is already over saturated from heavy rainstorms last month. Neighbors living along the Ramapo river in Oakland, New Jersey say they are worried it will spill over it’s banks again. Homeowners in Lindenhurst, Long Island say the are also worried about new rounds of flooding.
Forecasters say heavy rain is expected late tomorrow and into Wednesday and mild temperatures will melt the snow. That combination is expected to produce river flooding. Numerous homes in Passaic County were flooded last month from the Passaic, Pompton and other rivers overflowing.
