(New York, NY) — Congressman Ritchie Torres says it’s outrageous that Pro-Palestinian activists splattered red paint on a baby Jesus doll that protestors had set up outside his Bronx office. The attack took place on Christmas Day. The Bronx Palestine Solidarity Committee has claimed credit for the vandalism, even sharing photos of the doll covered in red paint on it’s social media platforms. No one has been arrested for the attack.
Torres is one of biggest supporters of Israel in Congress. He has resisted calls to support resolutions calling for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. The Congressman says the escalation in intimidation and incitement against pro-Israel members of Congress could be heading in a dangerous direction.
