WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court says for now, it will not take up a case about whether former President Trump is immune from prosecution for alleged crimes committed while he was in office. This could most likely delay the case. The High Court on Friday turned down a request from federal special counsel Jack Smith to expedite the case involving Trump’s alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election. The U.S. Court of Appeals will hear the case on January 9th. The court gave no explanation for the decision.
