(New York, NY) — Streets across the tri-state are flooded this morning, there are downed trees everywhere and more than 40,000 are without electricity, all from a powerful storm with punishing wind and rain that blew through overnight. Governor Hochul says she was up early monitoring the storm, and is warning New Yorkers to be careful if they have to be out. There are hundreds of flooded out streets across New York. In Howard Beach, homeowners say they cant believe another storm is flooding their neighborhood again. Firefighters in New Jersey have been rescuing people from cars that have driven into flooded areas.  More than 50,000 across the tri-state have no power.  Utility companies say they have crews ready to go to rewire those homes and businesses.

On Long Island, Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman is warning everyone to be careful when they walk out the front door today. He says there are downed power lines and trees.  The National Weather Service says the wind and rain will move out by the early afternoon and temps will fall into the mid 30s by sunset.
