(Trenton, NJ) — Angry casino workers blew cigarette smoke in the face of New Jersey lawmakers Thursday, after a bill that would have banned smoking in casinos failed to get through the the Assembly. Several casino workers lit up in the Trenton State House, and purposely blew that smoke at Assembly members. The protesters were quickly escorted out of the Statehouse. A vote was canceled Wednesday night, after a lawmaker pushing for the smoking ban in Atlantic City’s nine casinos pulled the bill because he said it would not pass. Casino workers says it’s insane that they are the last workplace left in New Jersey that allows smoking, endangering the lives of all workers.
