(New York, NY) — Pro-Palestinian protesters converged on the Brooklyn Bridge over the weekend.  The “Flood Brooklyn for Gaza” protest shut down the Manhattan-bound side of the bridge as an estimated five-thousand protesters showed up, some even climbing on the bridge. Some drivers caught amid the protest say they supported their right to demonstrate, but hate they they stop traffic. The pro-Palestinian demonstrators also made their way to the Brooklyn Museum, Barclays Center and City Hall. The protestors are demanding an immediate ceasefire and for the U.S. to stop funding Israel.

Some of the Israeli families with loved ones still being held hostage in Gaza are in New York today. They are hoping to convince world leaders to help get them freed. Yair Moses says he is still holding out hope his 79-year-old dad will be freed. He was kidnapped along with his wife from Israel back on October 7th. His wife was freed back in November. Qatar’s prime minister, who has been instrumental in negotiating the freedom of the hostages says he ‘s not confident more will be released anytime soon.
