(New York, NY) — Metro North, the LIRR and New Jersey Transit have put an alcohol ban in place Saturday for the annual SantaCon bar crawl. Each year, thousands dress up as Santa and hit up bars in midtown. No one will be allowed on trains or subways with bottles of booze. The 32-hour ban will go into effect at four a.m. Saturday and run through noon on Sunday. The ban applies to trains and station platforms.
Over the past decade, SantaCon, has raised more than one million dollars for charity – with the profits made from 15-dollar tickets going directly to good causes this holiday season. Those who live on the bar crawl route are never happy to see the drunken Santa parade every year. The say the Santas urinate and throw up in their neighborhood
