Adams’ campaign is under scrutiny
(New York, NY) – As the FBI is reportedly continuing its investigation into Mayor Eric Adams’ campaign fundraising efforts — and Adams is looking to raise money for his defense fund. The New York Post cites sources in saying Adams hopes to raise $500,000. This would be achieved through a trust — and the goal is to reach that amount by mid-month.
The Post reports the trust is being set up and will soon begin accepting donations. New Yorkers are permitted to donate so long as they don’t have business with the city. To date, while Adams’ 2021 campaign fundraising efforts are being investigated, the mayor himself has not been officially accused of wrongdoing.
