Burlington stabbing
(Burlington, VT) – A suspect is under arrest in the shooting of three college students of Palestinian descent. It happened on Saturday night in Burlington, Vermont, near the University of Vermont campus. Cops say that the suspect approached the three 20-year-old students and opened fire using a handgun — without saying anything. Police tracked a suspect to a nearby apartment building, where 48-year-old Jason Eaton was taken into custody yesterday.
Family members of the three victims say they were the victims of a hate crime, as they were wearing the traditional head scarf known as keffiyehs. Two of the victims are reportedly in stable condition, while one suffered more serious injuries. Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders expressed his sorrow over the shooting and said hate has no place anywhere.
