Apartment fire
(West New York, NJ) – Eight firefighters are recovering from injuries they suffered while battling an apartment building fire in West New York, New Jersey. The fire broke out just as one of the families living in the apartment building were sitting down to Thanksgiving dinner. Several of the injured firefighters had been on the roof of the building when it collapsed. Smoke inhalation and broken bones were among the injuries listed.
The roof came down as a result of an explosion amid the ongoing fire. A neighboring building was reduced to rubble as a result. The Red Cross says it’s working with around 10 displaced families as they look for a place to stay.
