NY-LEGISLADOR ACUSADO
(New York, NY) – New York State Senator Kevin Parker has been accused of rape. He was sued on Friday in Brooklyn Supreme Court by a woman who alleges Parker forced himself on her back in 2004. Olga Jean-Baptiste says in her lawsuit the incident in question happened at her home, after she worked alongside Parker to get items, supplies, and other donations to Haiti following a flood that devastated the country.
Parker, who was first elected to office in 2003 and has held office ever since, did not reply to requests for comment on Monday. The 56-year-old Democrat previously ran for City Council but did not win in 2001.
The lawsuit against him was filed under the Adult Survivors Act, which is set to expire next week. It created a yearlong suspension of the typical statute of limitations concerning sexual abuse cases.
