(Israel) – According to the leader of Hamas’ political bureau, negotiators are getting close to finalizing a deal that would secure the release of hostages being held in Gaza. CNN and other outlets report the proposed deal would include a five-day ceasefire, as well as the release of Palestinian prisoners in Israel.
On Monday, the White House said a deal was getting close but still had some details that needed to be ironed out. Officials in Qatar are working alongside negotiators for Hamas, Israel, and the US. It’s possible a deal could be announced as soon as today.
