(New York, NY) — City Hall built a tent city for up to two thousand migrants at Floyd Bennett field in Brooklyn, but it seems few migrants want to take shelter there. Buses of migrant families rolled in there Sunday. Many got off those buses, looked around and then got back on to buses and asked to go elsewhere. Migrant families say the did not like the fact the bathrooms were outside, and that the tent city could be home to more than two thousand people. Local lawmakers say they warned Mayor Adams that no one would want to stay at Floyd Bennett field, because it’s far from work and school options.
