(Jersey City, NJ) — Former New Jersey Governor Jim McGreevey has launched his political comeback today, announcing in a video on social media that he is running for mayor of Jersey City in 2025. It’s been two decades since McGreevey, who was married, resigned as Governor right before a secret extramarital affair was about to go public, that included a no show job for his lover. The 66-year-old has been out of the political spotlight since his resignation in 2004, focusing on prison reform and reentry programs for formerly incarcerated individuals.
