(Uvalde, TX) — The mother of a child killed in last year’s mass shooting at Robb Elementary School is on the ballot today for mayor of Uvalde, Texas. Kimberly Mata-Rubio’s daughter, Lexi, was among the 21 killed when Salvador Ramos went on his rampage. It took officers more than an hour to confront and kill him. Mata-Rubio is also the president of Lives Robbed, a group of mothers and grandmothers of the victims who have pushed for changes after the shooting.
