A rematch in northeast Queens is underway as Republican Vickie Paladino and Democrat Tony Avella both fight to represent the City Council’s 19th district.In Brooklyn. Democratic City Councilman Justin Brannan is taking on Republican City Councilman Ari Kagan in a newly redrawn District. In New Jersey, all State Senate and Assembly sets are up for grabs, but many are running unopposed. Democrats currently control both houses. Out on Long Island, Democrat Dave Calone is facing off against Republican Ed Romaine to be the next Suffolk County Executive. 77WABC will have the election results as they come in on Tuesday night.
