Marathon runners
(New York, NY) – It might be best to ditch the car on Sunday if you need to get around the five boroughs, as the 2023 TCS NYC Marathon will be snaking its way through the Big Apple. Officials are advising people to use mass transit, as road closures will be in effect.
The NYPD also advises that security will be tight. NYPD assistant commissioner Kaz Daughtry says both visible and non-visible methods will be in use. Despite there being no specific threat identified, NYPD counter terror and intelligence teams will be monitoring web activity to stay on top of things. Upward of 50,000 runners will be participating in the race. The 26-mile route finishes up in Central Park.
