(Nepal) – Authorities say that more than 150 people have been killed after a magnitude 5.6 earthquake struck in Nepal. They say the death toll is expected to rise. It happened around 300 miles west of Kathmandu around 12:00 AM local time. Reports indicate the resulting landslides and spilled debris have cut off entire mountain villages.

Hundreds of people are injured. A regional hospital quickly became overwhelmed with victims, forcing officials to airlift additional victims to hospitals located in nearby districts.
