(New York, NY) — Drone footage shows that the city has begun quietly building a tent city for migrants at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn. Two thousand could be housed there once the work on the tents is complete. Some New York City lawmakers have pushing federal legislation that would prevent the Biden Administration from housing migrants at national parks, like Floyd Bennett field. Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis has proposed legislation that would prohibit federal funds from being used to house migrants on federal land, saying taxpayers preserve these parks for their own use. City Hall continues to try to find places to house the migrants, that continue to be bussed here from the U.S.-Mexico border. Mayor Adams says every available space is being used now.
