(Washington, D.C.) — House Republicans are set to meet tonight in their latest efforts to find a Speaker. The position has been vacant since Republicans ousted Speaker Kevin McCarthy on October 3rd, bringing the business of the House to a standstill. After multiple failed attempts by Ohio Congressman Jim Jordan to win the gavel, lawmakers will hold a candidate forum to evaluate at least nine Republican candidates who have thrown their hats into the ring. An internal vote to find a new candidate is set for Tuesday.
