(Tel Aviv, Israel)  — The death toll continues to rise in Israel and in Gaza. More than 1,300 Israelis have been killed.  The Israeli military says more bodies were identified over the last 24 hours.  Overnight,  Israel pounded Hamas targets in Gaza.  The death toll there is now over one thousand.  25 Americans have been killed, 17 are missing. Some of the missing are likely being held captive by Hamas in Gaza. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who is in Israel  says the US is working to free those hostages.

There are more confirmations of American deaths, including 20-year-old Itay Glisko who is from Paramus, New Jersey.  Edan Alexander,  who just graduated from Tenafly High School in New Jersey , is among the Americans missing in Israel.
