UNDATED – Could former President Trump be filling the shoes of former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy?
Word is Trump may appear in Washington next week, where lawmakers are expected to vote on a new speaker.
Trump seems to have the support of some Republican members for the Speaker Post.
He said he’ll “do whatever is best for the country,” but added he’s focused on his presidential campaign.
McCarthy was voted out of the Speaker’s position by conservatives, for brokering a bill with democrats to temporarily keep the Federal government running.
