(Queens, NY) – A gnarly story has emerged out of Queens where a DWI suspect is facing additional charges — for allegedly biting off an NYPD sergeant’s fingertip. Cops say Lenni Rodriguez-Cruz led police on a chase and eventually crashed, that’s when he was taken into custody. He’s accused of flying down Liberty Avenue and even cutting through Rufus King Park in downtown Jamaica, Queens before crashing.

At the 103rd Precinct’s station house, Rodriguez-Cruz was being held in a cell. That’s when he allegedly began “acting up,” prompting the NYPD sergeant to check on him. Police say Rodriguez-Cruz when bit down on the sergeant’s finger, severing the tip. A photo was later posted to social media showing the wound. So now, Rodriguez-Cruz stands accused of DWI, numerous other offenses — and after the finger incident — alleged charges of “assault with intent to cause disfigurement or dismemberment.”
