(Detroit, MI) – President Biden says he plans to “stand in solidarity” with members of the United Auto Workers this coming week. He’ll join striking workers’ picket line on Tuesday. Biden has said he doesn’t think UAW members are getting a fair share of “the value they helped create.”

UAW President Shawn Fain has said he intends to send more workers to the picket line if substantial progress isn’t made on a deal with Detroit’s Big Three automakers. On Friday, Fain announced that Ford had agreed to some of the union’s demands, but said there’s still work to be done with GM and Stellantis. UAW members are looking for a 40% pay hike, cost of living adjustments, and pensions for all workers.
