(New York, NY) – New York City School buses will be rolling for now.
Negotiators for city-contracted school bus vendors and the union that represents drivers and bus attendants, have agreed to continue talks in hopes of avoiding a strike.
Schools Chancellor David Banks says “if there is a strike, it would probably be several weeks from now.”
The city has said it would issue emergency metro cards if a strike occurs. Parents and guardians can also potentially qualify for reimbursement if they need to arrange alternate transportation, like a taxi, Uber, or Lyft.
