(Middlesex, NJ) — Animal control workers continue to search a small New Jersey town for an alligator that’s been on the loose since last week.  People in Middlesex who have spotted the gator say it looks to be around 4 feet long. It was last seen over the weekend in the waters of Victor Crowell Park. A police officer who spotted the alligator over the weekend fired a shot at it . It’s unknown if the alligator was struck. Police say the park will remain closed until the creature is no longer deemed to be a threat.
