(Wisconsin, WI) – Tonight in Milwaukee, Wisconsin eight GOP presidential candidates will participate in the first Republican primary debate. Notably, former President Trump won’t be among them. Citing his significant lead in polls, he opted to instead record an interview with Tucker Carlson that will be posted to X, formerly known as Twitter.

Meanwhile, Trump is expected to surrender to Fulton County DA Fani Willis on Thursday. Prosecutors allege he and 18 co-defendants conspired to overturn Georgia’s 2020 election results. Trump has said there was voter fraud in 2020, and on Truth Social he argued there’s now an upcoming chance to prove that in court.

As for the debate, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, former Vice President Mike Pence, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy will be on the stage. Writer/radio host Larry Elder claims he was kept out of the debate because one of the polls he submitted was Rasmussen — which is considered more right-leaning.
