(Brooklyn, NY) — An 87-year-old woman riding a motorized scooter is left in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in Williamsburg last night.
Cops say Marva Baker was on her scooter, trying to cross Leonard Street near her Williamsburg apartment when she was hit by a car just after 6 o’clock on Leonard Street. According to police, the 36-year-old driving a red Hyundai sedan was trying to back into a parking spot when he struck the woman.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with head trauma. The driver remained at the scene. CBS 2 reports he had a suspended license and was taken into custody.
