Biden Receives Angry Reception in Hawaii

collage-maker-22-aug-2023-06-42-am-2891

(Maui, HI) – President Joe Biden visited Maui, Hawaii yesterday — where the deadliest wildfire in modern US history has claimed at least 114 lives. Biden says neighborhood of Lahaina will receive the support it needs following the devastating blaze that’s wrought almost unimaginable destruction. Officially, over 850 people remain missing.

Biden discussed his experience with loss, noting his home in Delaware experienced a fire in 2004. But some locals were less than pleased to see the Commander in Chief, with one large sign reading “No Comment” — alluding to when Biden made that same utterance while asked about Hawaii by reporters. On social media, videos can be seen of angry residents flipping the president’s motorcade the bird. Some say the federal response has been slow and inadequate — especially in terms of updating the death total and helping to identify human remains.
