(Los Angeles, CA) – The summer blockbuster “Barbie” is now Warner Bros.’ highest-ever grossing domestic release, surpassing “The Dark Knight” this past week. It also came close to retaining its number one spot at the box office through it’s fifth weekend — but was edged out by a different Warner Bros. film — superhero flick “Blue Beetle”.

Great Girwig’s “Barbie” has now taken in up to $567.3 million in North America, and $1.28 billion globally — despite being banned in several countries. As for this past weekend, “Barbie” pulled in $21 million, while “Blue Beetle” posted $25 million in ticket sales.
