Wallaby on Coney Island
(Brooklyn, NY) — An animal you’d be more likely to find in Australia was rescued from the Coney Island Boardwalk.
The NYPD responded to reports to a person strolling down the boardwalk with a wallaby Friday night. Members of the 60th precinct arrived and found the exotic animal with its presumed owner.
The cute little guy certainly was a sight to see for New Yorkers, but the animal itself is illegal in New York and many other states.
The wallaby was taken to the Animal care center of NYC , and the owner was issued a summons for possession of a wild marsupial. You can check out the photos of the Australian wallaby on the NYPD News Twitter
