fish and power outage
(New York, NY) – Power goes out for any number of reasons. High winds can bring down trees, and then power lines. Sometimes the grid is overloaded during extreme heat. But for residents of New Jersey, a resent outage is being blamed on a fish. More specifically, investigators with New Jersey Central Power and Light think a fish dropped by a bird flying overhead led to the explosion of a transformer.
This happened in Lower Sayreville this past Saturday. A significant number of customers were left without power afterwards.
Of course, cops were hoping to avoid anything “fishy” by putting out a press release. They released a sketch of the potential bird involved — labeled suspect. Police also included a memorial notice for the fried fish.
