(Provo, UT) — Federal officials say a Utah man was shot and killed during an FBI raid related to threats against President Biden Wednesday morning.
The raid comes after Craig Robertson allegedly made a threatening post about Biden’s visit to Utah with comments about assassinating the president. Biden is in Utah today as part of a tour of western states.
“I hear Biden is coming to Utah. Digging out my old ghillie suit and cleaning the dust off the M24 sniper rifle,” said Robertson in a social media post.
The man also allegedly threatened Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and Vice President Kamala Harris .
The FBI said the shooting happened as special agents tried to serve arrest and search warrants at a Provo residence.
“The FBI takes all shooting incidents involving our agents or task force members seriously,” the FBI said in a statement. “In accordance with FBI policy, the shooting incident is under review by the FBI’s Inspection Division. As this is an ongoing matter, we have no further details to provide.”
