People walking, exercise
(Baltimore, MD) – New research suggests 4,000 steps per day is the new target in terms of lowering your risk of heart disease. That’s per a study from Johns Hopkins University, which challenges the traditional 10,000 step per day mark. Researchers examined data from more than 200,000 participants.
The study was published this week and argues people who take 4,000 steps per day lower their risk of premature death from any cause – not just heart disease. Researchers at Johns Hopkins do note that walking more than 4,000 steps per day increases the health benefits overall.
